Fagutvalget (GFFU) skal være bindeleddet mellom studentene og instituttet. I tillegg fungerer det som et bindeledd til Realistutvalget og fakultetet. Siden instituttet har så få ansatte og studenter, tas ofte de forskjellige sakene direkte opp med de ansatte. Fagutvalget tar også opp saker som angår studenter, hvis det skulle være nødvendig. Fagutvalget skal også gjøre sitt beste for å inkludere alle studentene ved GFI, da spesielt førsteårsstudentene, i et sosialt nettverk som vil sørge for sosiale og faglige arrangementer.
Hver høst arrangeres generalforsamling. Her velges representantene til styret for ett år av gangen. Vi ønsker også styremedlemmer som vil være med å arrangere sosiale og faglige arrangementer. Ta kontakt om du ønsker å være med!

The student union (GFFU) is the intermediaries between the students and the institute. We also have a representative in the “Realistutvalget” – the student board representing all the students in the faculty – and we address any issues you as a student at the GFI may have with the GFI or the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Students taking courses at the GFI, and/or are enrolled on a bachelor/master programme are automatically enlisted as members of the GFFU, and may attend our events.
Since our institute is a rather small one, in number of students and employees, we often speak directly to the relevant employees should there be any matters to address.
Other than these “official duties”, we also host parties, cabin trips, seminars, etc. Attending events hosted by the GFFU is a great way to get in touch with the other students at the GFI! We have different groups responsible for hosting parties and extracurricular events, and we always have a seat available for more people in our committees.
