Bjerknes’ dream, a German Weißbier

The Christmas spirit is in the air at the institute after a very successful Julesup. New Year is approaching, and in order to be finished for the 100th Year Anniversary for GFI, the third and final beer for the party has now been brewed. It has been named “Bjerknes’ dream”, and is a beautiful German Weißbier. Bjerknes’ dream is a fresh, wheat-rich and light coloured beer that “everyone likes”.

 

Recipe:

Malt:

2800g Wheat malt
2200g Pilsner malt
300g Munich malt

Hops: Hallertau Mittelfruh (50g@60min, 50g@10min)

Yeast: WLP 300 Hefeweizen

Brewing date: October 05th, 2016

OG = 1,060

    Nice! Looking forward to tasting it. Seriously, OG 1.060? I guess that would give us more than 5% ABV in the end. 🙂

      Yes! That was what I measured befored we put it in the fridge anyways! We will see how it turns out! I am excited!
